Graham Firth G3MFJ (our club treasurer) describes using Paypal to renew your subscription or join the GQRP club:-
Membership:
The Paypal membership rate is £6 GBP(+45p) for UK members, European countries £10 GBP(+65p), and for DX countries £12(+70p).We require payment in GB Pounds please. Your credit card will be debited in your own currency at the prevailing exchange rate. PayPal charge us a transaction fee and this reduces the amount we get - so we have added a fee of 45p UK (65p EU, and 70p DX) to the transaction as "postage" when you use the "buy it now" pages found here:-
The total that you will pay will not be very different than if you posted a cheque to us.
Before you click on the "Buy Now" button, please will you enter in the box your callsign (whether you are a member or not) and also if already a member, your membership number. Now if you click on the button, it will take you to the PayPal page. If you already have a PayPal account, then log in as normal. If you do not have one, click on the "Continue" on the left. This takes you to a page where you have to put your address and credit card info. You are given the option of saving this info, and this will create a PayPal account for you. If you do not wish to save it, then just click on "Review Order and Continue".
Now you have an opportunity to review the order, you will see that your callsign and membership number have been carried forward to this page. Also, the transaction fee - now shown as postage - has been added to the total. We hope that you will not mind us doing this. If you have any extra information that you wish to pass to us, then there is a "Add special instructions to the seller" option and you should use this. Clicking on this will open a text box for your notes.
Please make sure that you add a note here to tell us if the payment is anything other a normal single subscription payment. If you are a new member, then we need all the information in this text file.
Graham's details will show on this page - even though the payment may be for Tony. This is because as Club Treasurer, all the PayPal accounts are in Graham's name.
Finally, click on "Pay Now" to send the payment. If you are paying in a currency other than your own normal one, PayPal will convert the amount and charge your card in your own currency. When the payment is accepted, we get an email to say that we have received a payment.
Please also note that Tony G4WIF, will, as a matter of course, always confirm a paypal payment. If you don't get an email after a week has elapsed (in case we are on holiday) please email us direct to check the funds have arrived. Just occasionally, Paypal forget to send an email, or perhaps it may get lost. We do not mind being reminded!
