The 2026 Convention will be at the Harper Adams University Campus, near Telford, TF10 8NB
The convention will commence on Saturday afternoon with the Buildathon. That will be followed by a social gathering with a buffet supper.
The Buildathon is planned to start at 2pm and will take place in one of the seminar rooms on the first floor of the main building (same as for the last two years for those returning). We will attempt to put up signs to direct newcomers.

Sunday will be running in parallel with the Telford Hamfest. Further info here
We plan to have three talks on the Sunday.
* Philip, M1GWZ, will be speaking about the forthcoming updated Club Antenna Handbook.
* Charlie, NJ7V, (Red Summit RF), will be speaking about building the PW G3RJV Signal Source.
* Talk 3 is still awaiting confirmation.
The Club Station G5LOW will be on air throughout Sunday.
Where is it?
The Convention will again be happening at the Harper Adams University campus near Newport, north of Telford.
The site has loads of car parking (but see below) and space for outdoor stalls as well as an indoor sales hall and modern lecture rooms.

By Road
If coming east or west on the M54, exit at Junction 3.
If coming from Wolverhampton and surrounding area, the A41 northwards is quickest.
If coming from a northerly direction, follow the A529, A41 or A519 as appropriate to your starting point.
If coming from the Stafford area, the A518 is the quickest.
Is there somewhere to stay?
There will be a number of B&B places available on site. This year with single rooms only. The rooms are student accommodation, so not luxury hotel standard, but we have used them in previous years and they are clean and comfortable. The breakfast caters for all tastes and there is plenty to eat.
Rooms & Buffet
On-site bedrooms are £70 + VAT for a single room, including breakfast.
The Saturday evening buffet is £17.
The nearest hotel is the Premier Inn Newport/Telford, Stafford Rd, Newport TF10 9BY, about 4 miles away .
How do you book?
Buildathon places, University B&B rooms and buffet Suppers must be booked in advance with our Club Secretary/Treasurer, Martin, m0hkg@gqrp.co.uk . Please note there is no option to ‘just turn up’!
Off-site accommodation is for you to sort out.
There is no need to book for the Sunday activitoes, just come along pay your Hamfest entry fee, and enjoy the day. Please note that the on-site catering have a 'card only' payment policy, so best to come prepared.
Harper Adams University now has an ANPR system covering all areas of the university. This will log all car registration numbers and give you 15 minutes once seen to register or you will receive a £60 fine.
The Telford Hamfest has arranged a free weekend car parking pass to cover Friday 4th - Monday 7th inclusive. All you have to do is register your details. You need to fill in your name, email and tick that you require parking, add your vehicle registration number and tick if you require an EV charging point (limited number available) then submit.
This takes you 30 seconds or so. The good thing is that you can pre-register:

Will there be a remote access option?
The talks are usually made available via Zoom but we have not yet confirmed that for 2026.
